Banyule: A Different Perspective Exhibition

April 13, 2017

Hello and thanks for stopping by.

Over the past 18mths I have been working on the above named exhibition.  I've travelled around the suburbs of Banyule looking for more then the green, community orientated, family friendly area it's portrayed as. It started with a question 'What is beyond the trees?' I wanted to know if there was more then what I was seeing. This also became a metaphor for exploring my thoughts - 'Am I more then I think I am?' 'What is really behind those thoughts?'

It's been fascinating to delve deep into the unseen and unexpected aspects of Banyule and uncover quite a multifaceted place.filled with urban artwork, derelict buildings and textured sounds.

The final artwork which includes, photography, film, installation and soundscapes (by artist and sound designer Jess Lovell), will commence with the;

Opening Night on Friday 28th of April and run until Sunday 7th May.

The interactive space will be open from 10-2pm each day

At Cambridge Arcade, The Mall - Bell St, Heidelberg West.

Coinciding with the event will be two free Art Adventure Bike Tours run by the fabulous artist and entertainer Fiona Haasz.  She'll be taking you on an unexpected tour of Banyule where you'll explore unseen artwork and landscapes and finish up at The Mall to explore further street art and the exhibition. You also have the opportunity for your photos to become part of the installation. For more information, please see below.

The tours will be held on
